What would be cool is if they would do a Mardi Gras Tourney at the Tigue featuring UL and Mcneese with like 4-6 other schools. Start on Thursday and end on Monday night with a championship game.

But, but, but there is no parking at the Tigue during Mardi Gras . . .

Skip could not hold Robe’s sun glasses. I am talking as a man. Robe was in a league of his own

I have said this for years. An 8 team tournament (if LSU wants to be excluded, I am ok with that). Play it early in the season over the course of 4 days (Thursday - Sunday). Seed the teams from the previous years RPI, so if we played this tournament next year based on current RPI it would look like this.

UL (46) would be the #1 seed.
Tulane (58) would be the #2 seed.
UNO (110) would be the #3 seed.
SLU (124) would be the #4 seed.
ULM (151) would be the #5 seed.
Nicholls (170) would be the #6 seed.
McNeese (208) would be the #7 seed.
NW State (229) would be the #8 seed.

I would exclude LSU/Southern and Grambling from this tournament. You could play it in New Orleans at Tulane's home field or if NO ever gets a minor league team back at the Shrine on Airline. It would be set up like a seek your own level tournament (winners advance in the first round/losers fall to the losers bracket.) Every team would be guaranteed 4 games, someone would go 4-0 and someone would go 0-4.

The Shrine on Airline is no longer a baseball stadium it is a rugby stadium not sure if it could be converted back for a weekend.
