I agree with your post. Playing like little league.

The infield lineup he is using leaves plenty to be desired.
Travel ball mentality
WCWS my hairy behind. We won’t be back there for a while folks.
Only starters can re enter according to NCAA rules. NFHS (high school) allows for all players, including subs to re enter.
This was one of those games that you don't want to have to look back on at the end of the season thinking, man, that was a reason why we're (enter post season status or position here.) Not that we're hosting, but anyway.
That was a routine game against a team that you're better than. We outhit them 14 to 6 and had them on the ropes. If you watched the game, McNeese had no business being in it short of UL's self inflicted wounds.
In the 6th, you have the 2 run lead and Schorman has been cruising. 1 hit given up through 5 +. Then error at SS and another in center scores 2. Routine plays. Plus the missed tag at home that looked really close, but that was set up by the error.
You break through in the 11th and go up 2 again. Game should be over the way you're pitching. Sam comes in to relieve Lamb, hits the first batter, only give up 1 hit with the Talley pop up that lands just in the right spot. Then a wild pitch or passed ball moves Talley to 3rd and she scores on the dropped strike three and weak throw to 1st (not sure if she was inside the line, but Piskos had to go an awful long way towards the circle to throw and had to lob it over the baserunner.) Next batter flies out. Game should have been over there too.
Schorman then reenters in the 13th and can't get an out before we lose. Cajun pitching had walked 0 in the first 10 innings, I think.
That all said, the game should have been over multiple times. Not putting it all on the defense. In the 11th, we had three hits and runners on with no outs, but could not get anymore than 2. Hayden getting thrown out twice earlier n the game didn't help. I'm still wondering what stealing 3rd was all about because she was out by a lot.
Credit to McNeese. They hung in there and are the benefactors. This just feels like one of those games that really doesn't help you if you win, but really stings if you lose. Especially like that.
Good analysis. Several decisions makes one scratch his head. Getting thrown out at 3rd by a lot with 2 outs, and pulling Lamb with 3 outs to go are just two. McNeese couldn't touch her. All I can figure is maybe she was on a pitch count or was feeling some pain. Also, the throw to first on the strikeout was high but should have been handled and the game over again. I don't like having a short first baseman.
