POLLOCK, La. (AP) - The federal prison in Pollock remained on
lockdown Monday.
A news release from the Warden's office says the lockdown status
was instituted in the maximum security penitentiary Sunday evening
after one inmate assaulted another.
During a lockdown the inmates are kept in their living quarters
and routine activities, including visiting are suspended.
The news release says the institution is secure, all inmates are
accounted for, and there has been no threat to public safety.
An investigation is under way and the FBI has been notified.
