It better be. I'm gonna be ____ed if they do all of that for a QB.

For those not informed, here's the draft situation for the Saints.

"In a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, the New Orleans Saints have acquired the 16th overall pick, the 19th overall pick and a sixth round choice (194th overall) in exchange for the 18th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, a third round compensatory pick (101st overall) and a seventh round choice (237th overall), as well as the Saints' first round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and their second round pick in 2024. The 16th overall pick was acquired by Philadelphia from the Indianapolis Colts in a 2021 trade.

In the 2022 draft, New Orleans will now have two first round picks (16th and 19th overall), one second round pick (49th overall), one third round compensatory selection (98th overall), one fourth round pick (120th overall), one fifth round pick (161st overall) and one sixth round pick (194th overall)."

That would be ideal! Hopefully they won't go all Sean Peyton and waste this draft capitol on one player. This is an opportunity to draft two very good prospects, and deal with the cap situation going forward. In reading several football minds opinions, the Saints are beginning to manage the cap this year with younger players and not keep kicking the can down the road.

Yeah, without giving up anything this year, they’ve actually improved their draft posotion for 2022.

Any success next year and the following year would mean the number one in 2023 and the number two in 2024 would potentially be second and third round picks.

Which could potentially be mitigated if Peyton goes back to coaching.

While I think this is an outstanding move by Loomis, part of me still fears they would package the two number ones to move up for a quarterback.

I would much rather have Jameis and Penning and Olave then a bigger less accurate version of Michael Vick who got exposed and wore out by our defense Who doesn’t have a tackle to block for him or a receiver throw to.

Brother, there ain't a Michael Vick in this draft, not even close. IMO potential for success at QB is Pickett >8-10 chance, Ridder>7-10 chance, Howell>6-10 chance, Willis>4-10 chance. None of these is worth two ones & a two. And that's essentially what the Saints would trade for any one guy. There are too many good players in this draft to waste three players for one when you can get two really good to special players now. This draft is loaded with ready to plug & play talent. QB isn't one of those positions.

I agree. Get a WR and a OT in round 1.

I don’t see Olave being available that late, no brained, if he is.

It's 50/50 at best that he will be there at that point of the draft. If Pickett and Willis are drafted in the Top 15, it will push a player or two that was not projected to be there at their pick. At that point, they could go with the best player available on their board, or trade down and add a few more picks to work with.

Just went back through the Seattle roster at QB. It is pathetic. I seriously don't know what the so called experts are using to justify Seattle going anywhere but QB with their first pick. They're definitely taking a QB unless the rest of the league screws up & leaves Travon Walker for them.

Does anyone believe that Atlanta wants to start the season with Marcus Mariota at QB? I don't. And Pittsburgh doesn't have their QB question settled by any means. They might try to move up in this draft if Willis & Pickett come off the board early. While I hate the thought of the Saints trading up for a QB. I like the threat of them trading up for a QB to get others to trade up for a QB thereby solidifying their chances of getting an OT & WR.
