Thread: Here goes

So I PM'd Turbine the other day & asked about possibly adding a Saints forum to the site since there is hardly any more Saints talk now locally. Being the master of free speech Turbine said it could be possible. So now, I'm going to exercise that opportunity & talk Saints draft talk. I have said this since seeing the Senior Bowl. I think the Saints will draft Trevor Penning with their number one pick. Then I believe the Saints will take the best available WR/ TE with their 2nd pick. I look for them to take the tight end from Virginia with that pick. Then I look for them to draft either the running back from Florida then Max Mitchell one way or the other with their next two picks. Are there any other Saints fans that pull for UL out there?

I don't follow pro football. The kneeling down turned me off.

The saints should take Chris Olave with the first pick….best deep threat in the draft I believe and that’s what they need….this draft is OT and WR deep….plenty of starting tackles into the 3rd and 4th rd….max would be awesome on the saints but they would have to move Ramczyk to LT….I don’t think max is ready to be a blind side OT day one.

    Actually…..

But yeah, I think the three of us agree on the first two picks, a little different on the order.

I’m pretty much all in with Olave.

And I think they’ll get a starting tackle in the second, maybe even the third.

I'm still waiting for a Food Forum.

And a Politics & Religion Forum too.

I just hope Allen let's Ireland do his job. We saw what he could do In 16 & 17 without SP getting involved.

The only chance for Olive to fall to the Saints at 18 is if Willis and Pickett are drafted in the Top 15 because of a weak QB class. Otherwise they should take Penning or Cross at 18, or trade back.

Don't think penning falls to the saints. He will go top 12

The Saints have a history of avoiding in state players. So I don't see them taking Mitchell.

O-Tackle with pick #1... even if it means trading up

If the QBs are drafted in the top 15, there is a chance he slides mainly because he's considered more of a mauler at this point even though he played left tackle in college. His development at this stage would make him a better fit at right tackle and Saints can move Ram to left tackle. Neal, Ekwonu and Cross will come off the board before him because they are left tackles that are more developed at this stage.

I'm pretty certain by what Atlanta did recently, they are going to draft a QB. I look for them to take Pickett & Carolina may also go after another QB as well. Neal will be a top 5 pick & Ekwonu will likely be top 10-15 if not higher. I don't buy into the not developed talk at all. That's "expert" terminology for we're shocked that this guy is this good & he's from Northern Iowa. Any of the four guys you just mentioned have the real potential to be perennial pro bowlers.

There are several tackles at the next level who would also be considered top level tackles in a year where that position wasn't this good. Mitchell, the tackle from Central Michigan & the tackle from North Dakota State are all outstanding young talents that will take a little developing, but would be starter ready by the end of the year.

After watching Willis playing with the “yips” against the Cajuns, I cannot for the life of me picture drafting him high. I’m thankful the Saints apparently have the QBs they want.

Thank you, I was wondering & wanted to ask was I the only one who thought this way. I don't think the guy will be that good at the NFL level. Every time he made a play it was to a wide open guy. But Seattle & Atlanta have basically given their hands away. They both need a QB.
