Thread: SB: Louisiana Seeks to Continue Upswing During Sun Belt Series at Texas State

  1. UL Softball SB: Louisiana Seeks to Continue Upswing During Sun Belt Series at Texas State

The top two preseason favorites in the Sun Belt Conference race meet in San Marcos, Texas when the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball team faces off with Texas State in a three-game series scheduled for Friday-Sunday, April 1-3.

Louisiana (21-8, 7-2 Sun Belt) is continuing a four-game stretch inside the state of Texas which began on Wednesday, March 30 with a 6-5 (8 inn.) win over No. 14 Texas in Austin.

    >> The win in Austin allowed Louisiana to continue building upon its most complete weekend performance in Sun Belt play – a three-game sweep of UT Arlington in which the pitching staff surrendered only one run in 16 innings and the offense batted .457 in outscoring the Mavericks 29-1 from March 25-27 at Lamson Park.

Heading that way this morning. Going to be great weather to indulge in softball and craft beers.

Anyone have a restaurant suggestion for San Marcos?

Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood, about 17 miles from San Marcos. Had lunch there yesterday, really good my friend.

No recommendations for San Marcos, but if you've already left, I'd suggest lunch (or late lunch and be extra hungry) Feges BBQ in Spring Branch. You'll thank me later. It'll be only 7 minutes off your route (assuming you're taking I-10 through Houston).

I ate it Casa Maria yesterday. Very nice restaurant, good Mexican food, reasonable prices.

I haven't eaten at very many places in San Marcos, but if I had to recommend one, I'd try 54th Street Grill. It's a chain, but they have an extensive menu and a lot of it looks pretty good. I am a creature of habit, so I always (twice, lol) get the Rattlesnake pasta.
