Apologies in advance if this is off base, (these are questions)
Do we the fans, pay espn for a subscription?
Then the school has to pay to show what we get to watch with our subscription fees that went to espn?
And espn gets to choose the announcers?, Either way does our school or espn pay for that?
Could they just use the radio audio over the video?
And as far as the football deal (on actual networks not internet)
When espn announces “the sunbelt is guaranteed “X” # of games in prime time”, while technically true, I guess we are supposed to say yippee! But do others feel like they are really saying, “We are limiting the sunbelt to “X” # of games in prime time”
What exactly does espn do with the subscription fee the fans pay?
Texas state broadcasting all three softball games versus UL. UL baseball broadcasting 2 of 3 baseball games in a weekend with no softball.
Many decades ago, KRVS handled the radio broadcasts. Times change, we are in transition to something. What that will look like, who knows. But we probably don’t have enough journalism majors and student buy in to handle it ourselves. Besides, they’d probably get grade deductions for not saying “at Lafayette”.
