You don’t have to agree with the Ragin Review guys, but my God is it refreshing. Right, wrong or indifferent, it’s dialogue about the university and athletics.
I found it interesting that there’s a disconnect between certain sects of fans. Good! It shows that there’s different people interested in the programs. Sometimes, aside from the good people of Ragin Pagin, I forgot that it exists.
In the end, I think, we all want success for each and every program. But when someone calls a spade a spade, thank goodness. I don’t care if it’s just an opinion. It’s all in the interest of success.
Remember, all this fan stuff is supposed to be FUN!
I think that one weekend in March showed what out potential could be. The problem is we have heard it going into just about every season over the past few years. There comes a point where people just throw their hands up and just say "I'll believe it when I see it." Dr. Maggard made his decision. We will see how it turns out. Personally, I have my doubts. 12 years is a large sample size.
As far as the PG, this is where that criticism starts to sneak in from the detractors. Even though Russell left at the last minute, he was never a PG. But then, the attempted justifications of our shortcomings this season was the fact that we didn't have a PG. You heard me say we needed one last season before Russell left. We even talked about it. How we have not been able to find a true PG in three seasons is unheard of.
Appreciate it!
We are a fan podcast, not a news station. And we have a blast doing what we do following the university athletic programs that we love as a fun hobby. We also appreciate the feedback that we get from people even if it's sometimes not what we want to hear in order to make us better.
If you are a fan of the sport... watching regular season after regular season devolve into a mere practice session/season just hoping to get hot in March, is unaccetable.
I can't disagree with this because you have a fair point. But it would be nice to give people their money's worth in the regular season. The "three days in March" comment is true. But that doesn't mean you underachieve the other 4 months. The perfect example is this past season.
Not trying to fan the ego flames, but I appreciate that RR do what they do. I miss Jay, Stevie, and friends on the local radio.
Not going into the local slight, but I started listening to RR before football season this year. Not that local radio doesn’t allude to the reasons for loses, but it’s nice to hear concentrated analysis that’s independent. Call it what it is . You may be right, you may be wrong. Who gives a crap. It’s fan stuff and I’m happy people care enough to put effort into producing content to talk about it.
