Hope this brings clarity. Seems most of us, myself included, was off a year.

  2. UL Basketball Basketball Coaching Change

It’s obviously apparent Georgia St. will not lose to the Cajuns and Coach Marlin cannot defeat them.
It’s time for a coaching change.
It’s a pathetic situation when the baseball and softball parks have more attendance than the basketball games.
My family will not attend another basketball game until we have a new coach.

Didn't every coach get 1 year extension because of covid

That’s what Prather’s article covered. Seems Marlin would go thru March 2024 when put with the 5 year contract.

I would like to take the emotions out for a Marlin moment. Regardless how fans feel, what are the terms of his current contract?

Think he only has 1 more year left. At this point, just let the contract play out. What’s one more year ….

I agree with this, but I'm also not a basketball season ticket holder. The SBC is a one bid league, and it seems like we're pumping most of our resources into football. I would like to see a change after his contract is up, but I think he should just finish out his contract. That team didn't quit on him even though they had a really inconsistent year.

Outside of a handful of people on this board no one cares about basketball. If they did, they would show up at the Cajundome 5-6k strong every game. Lack of interest in the product is not a function of who is coaching or playing. It is the same in football… ranked in the top 25, but struggling to put butts in the seats.

Agree. If he gets said year the way they played down the stretch, where guys got healthy, understood their roles better, and played as a team, if all return it could be a very special year. May even lead to an extension.
