So you might be right about no three team bids, but you're dead wrong about why this conference has gone from a two bid league to a one bid league at the bottom of the NCAA barrel. One of the absolutely most significant reasons the SBC sucks ditch water in basketball is because of this coaching staff being mediocre & this administration fostering mediocrity since Jesse. They're so damn afraid of getting called naughty, they won't take any chance, not ANY on possibly achieving any form of sustained success.

If the SBC is to ever again become a respectable basketball conference, then it's up to UL to lead the way. Like it, or not the SBC is just as dependent on what UL does as UL is on the SBC, maybe more. Don't even try to tell me how full of crap I am until you prove how it hasn't worked for football, baseball, as well as basketball in the past. You want the Sunbelt to be a bigger player, then make UL competitive. UL is the heart of the Sunbelt. They should have the champion in every single sport every single season, or have to reckon why.

What second most league wins since 2014 actually looks like: TX State being 17 wins behind the Cajuns from 2013/2014 - 2015/2016. TX State finishing ahead of the Cajuns in wins for 5 of the last 6 seasons including the last 4 straight.

WKU was an 11 as an at large the year we beat them, an 8 in 95 and a 9 in 2002 when they had Chris Marcus and beat us in the championship

With the addition of NIL, we will never compete for the CFP title, therefore we'll no longer get the fan support we imagined for football. We're playing for a New Year's Six bowl opportunity at best.

Investing heavy in basketball should be the smart play of any Group of 5 conference school. With the recent updages, make Cajuns basketball the place to be. We may have to add premium seating or club level, but if ther was a good basketball product and great social atmosphere, Acadiana would get behind it.

Remember, it was Wichita St. basketball that got the an invite to the American Athletic Conference.

We should have the expection of a perennial Sweet 16 basketball program. A good basketball product is what the state of Louisiana needs. It's there for the taking.

So it is a middle of the pack conference, the problem is that only about 10 conferences will get more than 1 bid. And many of those will be 2 bids. The majority will be taken up by the SEC, Big 12, Big East and Big 10. The Mountain West might get 3, the Pac 12 will get 3, the ACC might only get 3 or 4 this year. The AAC will have 2 possibly (a stretch 3), then the WCC will get 2 and everyone else will probably have 1 bid. That is 9 conferences with more than 1 bid and 2 with 2 and 7 making up the rest of the bids, that is of course unless a shocker happens in the top 9 conferences. Whether you are 16 or 11 in conference standings it doesn't matter, you are still getting 1 bid. The only way you will get potentially 2 is to have a conference similar to the WCC or the AAC that has a really good team and another that is a top 40 RPI team and might sneak in or have someone else win the tournament.

The top G5 schools are nothing but feeders to P5 schools now. The current model is unsustainable in college football. We'll be a great middle of the road football team as Mike develops talent, but we won't keep top talent for 3 years anymore. They'll transfer to bigger opportunities.

That's why it's easier to pool most of our NIL resources into 5-10 basketball players as compared to 25-30 football players.

Much cheaper travel, and flexibility within the budget. You never have to worry about weather conditions or competition with LSU football for fans. We could be the premier college basketball destination for Louisiana college basketball players. Think along the lines of Marquette in Wisconsin, Butler in Indiana,Creighton in Nebraska, Baylor in Texas.

We did not “catch lightening in a bottle” with Napier. We hired a legit up and coming young star with connections, relationships and pedigree.

I agree with you on Jay being a better offensive mind than Hud. He was actually a friend that I sat next to at many baseball tournaments. He is finally getting to the level job as OC that Bustle was at Va Tech when came here. If being a head coach is what he desires I hope he gets that opportunity.
