Unfortunately, not close. This the worst pitching staff in many years. The hitting can’t overcome the pitching unless something drastically changes and quickly.

Ck. our pitch count vs. opp. It's not all on the hill. We may not be patient enough at the plate. Ie., swing at first pitch after a 4 pitch walk. Swinging at first pitch almost every at bat. We give them short innings many times 'cause of our approach at the plate. JMO

Oh yeah, agreed. The pitching is just the most glaring problem. The offense does not get a pass, same for the defense.

Southern Miss made 14 of the last 19 regionals. Were similar in overall program quality at one time.

When is the last time we have run a starter early during a weekend series? It hasnt happen. Wanna know what the difference between the 43 win team and the 58 win team the following year? Walks went up and when that happens it takes less hits to score runs. And when we got hits they produced runs. And thats what isnt happening this year

Troy had all 3 games on espn + we have only one, small time very Monroeish. We used to be the leader and innovator in the sun belt now we act like Little Rock and Monroe. Doc Maggard seems to be going backwards.
