Pretty good point about Mizzou, unless this was his mission (should he choose to accept) as he did, and once we are all the way back down in everything, his party, err conference, will give him his just reward. ….he had to make it look good initially so nobody would be on to it, and he is helping conf mate florida a ton.
Troll or not some truths are being told…but the overall approach just ____es me off. Almost like someone has an axe to grind.
I see a football program that has been ranked in the Top 25 the last two seasons, the two greatest seasons in our modern football era.I see a brand that is more recognizable nationally today because our current leadership understood that more people in American view college football weekly during the season than baseball and softball combined.
I see more corporate money coming in than at any of my time over the past 40 years. That corporate money is helping fund the remodel of an antiquated football stadium driven by the vision of our current leadership in the athletic department. That vision plan was inspired by the input of athletic consultants that were hired to move beyond the vision of our former leadership that built two tractor sheds on the top of the south endzone.
And, I see your post that echos the vestiges of the old regime under Dr. Authement and Coach Blanco. A divided tribal view of sports that still believes spring sports brings more national interest to your brand and money to our foundation.
Football drives the wagon, it took this university 3 decades to figure it out. The MBB program isn't successful because the lack of funding, but because the head coach is not capable of winning consistently, nor raising money. Baseball and Softball are to be determined going forward.
Just for the record, I can't tell you how many times I heard Mike Lotief complain about the lack of funding under our previous athletic director.
And that same person couldn't raise money to build Coach Robicheaux a new stadium, and he wasn't exactly well funded either. Both programs today are funded at a higher level than before under the previous athletic
director. All that is possible because of the success of football , not in spite of it.
