Curious, what is everyone’s take on how good Troy is in relation to the rest of our conference schedule?
Troy is a very solid ball club. They swept Indiana the weekend before us.

Troy is indeed a solid team, but not great. Our next series is with South AL (15-3) who is very strong at everything with a microscopic team ERA two full runs less than us at 2.65. Their slugging % at .435 is 40 points above ours. We have our work cut out, but we seem to play better at home.

The series after that with GA Southern would appear to be easier with an ERA above 5.

Troy is better than everyone probably thought. I think their pitching is more consistent than ours, but i dont think they are great. They made us pay for our defensive mistakes at the plate. They are on the upswing for sure.

I know they’re on the first year of their head coach. According to some here, that means they’re rebuilding . So we just got swept by a rebuilding team.

Rebuilding, but rebuilding at home. I kid, but seriously, we look more tentative, less hungry on the road.

This team is more different on the road, compared to home, than many other Cajun teams and not in a good way.

I think that has everything to do with a team following the lead of their coach. He's an emotional manager, and they need that emotional push.

Appreciate the feedback, guys. In the games I’ve been able to watch I’ve seen potential, but little to no consistency. And some high level talent, but little to no depth in a lot of areas. I hope I’m wrong, but I can’t see us winning a lot of conference games with the amount of fundamental errors we seem to plague ourselves with every night.

Sloppy play is the one thing that stands out now for sure

Robe left the cupboard very bare, by our standards. He remained way to loyal to an assistant who wasn’t delivering. It has set this program back. That’s what we are seeing right now.

You know ive never heard Deggs say that we are not fundamentally sound…ever. Maybe he has but i havent heard it. And it is so obvious we lack fundamentals with defensive errors, less than adequate bunt execution, and base running mistakes(pick offs). All of that is part of the game no doubt but we make the same mistakes over and over again.

Last weekend a sr. tried to advance from 2B to 3B with the hard ground ball in front of him. He was out by 15 feet. A 10 year old can be coached not to do that. The excuse cannot be "Hey, we are aggressive".

Thats the unafraid to crash and burn mentality that is now the philosophy here. If you dont have those qualities you sit the bench
