    I know it's apples to raisins, but when DeLoss Dodds was AD at Texas, his public position was that if we [Texas] sponsor a sport, we will compete for national championships in that sport. [Of course the second sentence of his statement was: We will give them the resources to do so.]

    Nonetheless, Every good AD [and every good President] should have similar aspirations.

    I understand your point but why shouldn't a coach have the expectations of winning a NC. My expectation is to one day see UL win the NC will it happen probably not in any of our life time but we can dream.

    A NC in football is absolutely not possible, and likely will never be possible as things stand and in the direction the future of the CFB playoff is headed. The big boys will not give up a slice of the money pie.

    Winning a conference championship in every sport is my goal.
