Thread: Cajuns remain winless against Power-5 teams this season

  1. UL Softball Cajuns remain winless against Power-5 teams this season

The UL Ragin’ Cajuns still can’t find that winning formula against power five opponents this season, dropping a doubleheader to Texas 10-2 and 3-2 Wednesday at Lamson Park.

The Cajuns dropped to 15-7 on the season, while Texas improved to 18-9.

Is it the state of our program or G5 programs? Is the transfer portal and other aspects of athletics causing our personnel problems?

    Power-5 is a football term.

Louisiana is winless in Softball against schools that field Power-5 football teams.

I am old enough to remember when those same teams, who are now in conferences that have become the football p5, used the mantra that midweek games dont count. Only three game weekend series matter. So technically we are unblemished and the power team for losing those meaningless games and letting the no names wag their fingers a little to grow the sport, right?

A distinction without merit. The P5 AKA the autonomous 5 dominate every sport. So yeah we totally understand what he’s talking about when used loosely.

Lose lips aside, P5 has "official" restrictions on post-season admisability.

Autonomous bleedover by the media is having post-season committee consequences in the misnamed sports.
