So twice in one day, Mr. Heavy Hitter was in error on what he said was to happen and what happened. Sounds more like a light weight to me . . .

    Absolutely.

And I am yet to see anyone call our team trash as someone suggested.

Yeah, sweep. At least for the psyche of the team.

32 games left, I don't see the Cajuns going 20-12, which would be put them at 35-19. Would the record need to be better? Prolly so.

But barring a complete collapse, I just don't see the institution of UL softball not making the tournament.

    I haven’t either actually.

Many keep using youth as a a reason for some of the recent poor play against higher ranked teams or teams from what is perceived to be in a better conference. So by that do they mean that a single hit up the 5-6 hole that was mis-played by a freshman outfielder would not have been mis-played in a senior outfielder? Or the pop up hit by a freshman with runners in scoring position would have been a double if a senior was up at bat? The UL freshmen are all D1 athletes who have for the most part, played against the best players in travel ball. It isn't like they have lived their whole life down in Pecan Island and never played against the upper tier players. Why has the UL youth been able to smash the ball against the lower tier teams but struggled against the upper tier? Why has UL pitching been dominant against lower tier teams but struggled against upper tier teams? Youth might have been an excuse for the first couple of weeks but this far into the season, it is more than just youth than why the Cajuns have under performed so far in the big games to date. In Game 2 against Texas, it was the youth (Credeur and Hayden) that almost tied the game up for them in the 7th. Maybe the quick hook that Glasco has shown in the big games for players who commit an error or who don't have a good at bat or the pitchers who throw consecutive walks, might have some of them playing timid and looking over their shoulder.

At the beginning of the 2020 football season, there were questions regarding the team's performance....pass was a little high, but should have been caught; the pass should have been caught, but it was a little high.

Missed block, dropped interception, bad coaching decision.

Looks like we're seeing the same thing with softball.

Pitching seems to have regressed...is it the players or the new pitching coach? Who calls the pitches? Who makes the decision to pull a pitcher?

I know Coach wants to run a bunch, but (to me) it seems we're being thrown out a little more than usual. Is the opposition anticipating this and adjusting accordingly?

Against Texas, runner on third leaves early. Was it her fault for ignoring Coach or did Coach not communicate?

We saw walk, walk, error, error...and the flood gates opened. Heck, I think we committed two errors on one play.

Earlier in this thread (I think it was), somebody mentioned a lack of energy from the dugout. Is anybody besides Piskos oozing that energy that says, "I'm ____ed and we're gonna win this."

All that said, I anticipate this team will reach 40 wins and we will be in the tournament as usual.

Finally some truth. Youth isn’t the reason we’re not winning big games right now. That’s a delusion.

Unpopular opinion that I’m sure I’ll get crucified for…

    Lotief is a softball coach.
    Glasco is a softball recruiter.

    That is all…

    Interesting thought.
