How is clarifying a literal fact a sign I want Marlin to stay? I’ve said in NUMEROUS posts it’s time to change.

He won more games than he lost this year. No one said anything about quality of competition when asking about the record.
Because, you continue to make this same argument which goes against wanting him to be replaced.

Zephyr, you’re a smart poster. Someone asked if this roster had a losing record. And the answer is 100%, factual “No.”

How can you not comprehend this specific topic? Do I need to post link to NCAA.com showing a .516 win percentage for you all??

And one poster showed the level of context as to the answer to your question as winning record could be dissected in a few different ways, however, the bigger question is what does a winning record have to do with anything? It seems to be your defense to something I cannot comprehend? I mean, Ok, if Marlin won 52% of his games this year what is your stance? We went under .500 in conference (fact) and lost to Jackson State at home (fact) and finished 8th in final standings while projected to finish 2nd. Yet, you seem to be contending with certain posters who are calling for Marlin's dismissal. Why?

What does winning record have to do with anything? Nothing! Haha.

I was factually responding to a post questioning if this roster had a losing record. Not conference record, not OOC record, just record in general. That means the entire season. And accordong to the NCAA, UL did not have a losing record this season. If the poster would’ve specified his question to our conference record, then my response would be “that is correct. We had a losing record.”

    Again, it’s not my defense - it’s a fact!

My stance however is that .516 winning percentage is not good enough and we need new direction in basketball.

    Paper Tiger

Sleepwalking through the regular season and relying on "3 games in March" used to be about making it to the post season, not "3 games in March" to avoid a losing record.

To be fair, the team won 3 games in March. Goal accomplished. We just need to make sure to add the optional 4th game in our mantra, and we will be good.

Are we certain that everyone comes back? Our two best guards left after last season. Also, Jordan Brown has never played more than a season at the schools he had attended. Are we confident he returns? I assume with NIL, he will be in great demand from P5 schools.

Brown is staying. He is THE man for this program and that’s kinda always what he’s wanted.

I believe he may have to sit out a year if he decides to transfer again.

Even before the highly volital portal came along, Marlin has been poor at recruiting the players he already has.

Keeping him for stability sake makes zero sense.

So were Russell and Wilson. No inside info. I’m just not confident on staking our future on a guy who has played at three programs in three years.
