We can't beat their guards consistently off the dribble. They are too quick and play solid defense. They made the two guards from App State earn every point last night. I actually find that Thomas and Dalcourt are playing OK. They've gotten into the lane for all of their points and they aren't really turning it over a lot. The big thing for them is that Dalcourt is helping WAY too much off his man to help Thomas with the ball handler and his man is getting open 3's.

As hot as Gastate is we are still in this thing

Not the smartest decision but also not going to penalize us. We've made worse decisions on defense that have cost us much more.

We need them to cool off a lot

Offensively we are not doing badly. Just giving up way too much defensively. GaSt shoots 40% for the season and they’re at or over 50% right now

Yeah, I'm actually encouraged. I don't know if they can keep up that defensive intensity all game. They let App go on big runs last night and if they just start missing a little bit we're in this.

Our offense is playing decent. We are leaving them wide open on defense and not rebounding. Chasing the ball.
Sad thing is this is not the first time he has done that.

No way GaSt shoots like that in the 2nd half. If we can pick up the defense in the 2nd half and contest some of those 3's, we still have a shot.

Dalcourt's defense is hurting us. He plays way to off his man. Allen getting open looks.

Yes, but you'd have to look at what they've done in their last 12 games or so. They've gone 9-1 in conference after their terrible start and of course undefeated in the tournament and I promise you they've been shooting a lot better in that stretch. They were lights out last night as well.

The scouting report is that Allen doesn't shoot it that great but the problem is he's been white hot in the tournament. He hit 5 3's in the first half last night alone.

GAST game plan is to make us work and wear us down. Assists 14-3 GAST at half.

    Turnovers, 6-3, UL.

It wouldn't matter if they were 6-6 in their last 12 games. We don't defend well in the backcourt and haven't all season. There is a talent gap clearly at the guard position. But that hasn't been a secret all season.

Yes. They opened up in full court ball pressure. This is how they play defense though. They are prone to lapses for times as they let App go on a couple big runs last night and they don't play a lot of guys so if we could potentially get them in foul trouble, we can turn this around quickly.

Brown keeping us in the game with his play in the paint.
