    UL Softball Current softball rpi

Before any games have been played today this is the current sunbelt softball rpi.

    UL 38
    Troy 56
    Texas State 60
    ULM 107
    Georgia State 118
    Coastal Carolina 140
    South Alabama 146
    UT Arlington 165
    App State 174
    Georgia Southern 260

This week the Cajuns play McNeese who is 77 and Georgia State this weekend who is 118.

The Cajuns have all pitchers available Wednesday with the exception being Sam. For the opening conference weekend I would suspect Schorman getting the Friday and Sunday start and Lamb getting the Saturday start.

    Thanks JMV.

This is the point I was trying to get across to roarman. 38 is just on the good side of bubble team line. We're not playing (much less beating) anyone that will move the needle. Based on what is today, the league will hurt us regardless.

Texas has been "meh" this year, that is the best opportunity to pick up some rpi points. Indiana won't help, Illinois beat LSU once.

Season ends today, Troy is sitting home at 56. I'm guessing that is Georgia Southern at the bottom.

Looking like a one bid league today.

64 teams get into the field. At 56 Troy would be in.

Zoom go and look at their schedule! I think they will still get an at large bid if they don't win the conference.

Just for clarification, the official rpi rankings have not been posted yet. They should be out in two weeks.

As an aside, baseball rpi has been posted through games of March 2. Cajuns are #65.

The Cajuns moved from 38 to 32 without playing a game today. That goes to show everyone that it is very early into the season. Lots of ball left to play.

That RPI boost is the benefit of playing Bama twice and LSU twice. UL is 1-4 against teams in Top 100 RPI. The lone Top 100 win was against Portland State (51, go figure). The Cajuns SOS is ranked 81 with a non conference SOS rank of 82. They have 6 games coming up against teams with a current Top 40 RPI (Texas (30) and Texas State (38)). They are going to keep benefitting RPI wise in a small part from Bama and LSU from both of their SEC schedules. Troy currently has an RPI of 65 and ULM 99. The rest of the Sun Belt has an RPI in the mid to high 100's with Ga. Southern currently having an RPI of 270 (ouch). The Cajuns need to sweep Texas and then have them go on a tear in the Big 12 to help give their RPI a boost. LSU and Bama play each other this weekend to start SEC play.

Not that it matters in the end, but it looks like the Cajuns have fallen out of the top 25. At least in D1's rankings. I can't find anymore updated ones from other sources. I can't remember the last time we were not in the top 25. It's been a minute.
