Hunter Riggins was nails. We hit a few of balls to the track that would have exited without a three club wind blowing in.

Just got beat by a great arm today. Umpires were embarrassments to the profession yet again. Defense was really good again.

As far as Chip: I keep telling M$M, I get why they like him. He’s just not delivering. The spin rate crap is yet another analytic over manalytic that I just can’t stand. Find dudes and throw them. I just don’t think we have enough dudes in the bullpen, that’s why they are forced to throw the same 4-5 guys.

MAT...The staff has been deeper. One or two could step up and make a big impact. I sat down today and said we need 6 or 7 to win.

Agree. I’ve said it before and I’ll say again, losing Marshall is a lot bigger than people realize. I’m also at a loss as to why we haven’t seen more LaFleur.

Their pitcher was flawless all day. Southern Miss def deserved the win today. Hopefully we can get the bats going tomorrow!

I hope the Chipper investment gives us very big returns in the future. Right or wrong Deggs is doing what he said he would do. He is playing the long game and trying to develop those players he thinks have potential to be big for us later in the season (and likely beyond). It just appears some guys need to take a seat for a little bit and reset.

I’m excited for the match up tomorrow. Wilson and Bonds sound like a good 1-2 punch. If the USM hitters are aggressive early in the count as they have been so far against Wilson tomorrow, I like our chances. He pitched backwards with success against Arkansas.

I wonder if his back issue flared up affecting his pitching.

Have not heard that. I’ll see what I can find out.

To be clear I am going on no info. It’s a pure guess based on circumstances of him having a back injury and not being seen since opening weekend. We need lefties out of the pen.
