That was where my grandmother would go get her roast for Sunday dinner. She would always get me a link and my grandfather hard craklins.

My favorite used to be Earls off Verot School rd, but they seemed to have changed the formula, it used to be super spicy and plenty rice without liver to now less hot and big liver chunks, seems very inconsistent the last 4-5 times I have been.

Lately I've liked Heleauxs and Billeauds. Nunu's is okay, my family likes it but not my fav.
Try Charlie T’s in Breaux Bridge, next to Tractor Supply. Spicy but to me not a strong liver flavor.

I used to enjoy Don’s but I don’t think their product is as good since they moved to the new I49 location. Never tried their other location on I10.

Tried their’s once Boomer. I like red boudin but for those that don’t like the liver flavor I suspect it would be too strong a flavor. Growing up in Avoyelles Parish red boudin was all we knew. Hard to find now. I have been told that it can only be sold at establishments that harvest the blood at their own place.

I won't touch blood boudin, its availability is one of the things that embarrasses me about living in Abbeville. Because of their BB reputation, many years ago I needed Clement's to kill and clean some chickens I raised ( I don't even know if they do that anymore) I made them promise they would bleed my chickens. At the time they said they always do.

I have not had boudin since my heart attack 4 years ago. I forgot what it tastes like. I do remember that Guidroz on Simcoe street had some good stuff. You could get regular or "with an attitude". The "attitude" was very peppered. It would get you coming and going.

Yeah I get that food restriction. Kind of like liquor, can’t just have one link every year or so.

Oh go for it! It's a rare treat I allow myself every few years. A link of Best Stop and a ice cold coke. Gives me the "flutters". Never set off my defibrillator, so it's all good.

I have been eating low fat for so long that if, I do eat something high fat, it makes my stomach churn. It's just not worth it.
