And there’s sadly room in that boat, regardless of who is coaching. 5 years and counting for baseball. WBB, 1 trip in 50+ years. Softball best get it together, if the league becomes a one bid league, JMU isn’t an also ran like most of the league.

Even if we play big name teams, if we can’t beat them, auto bid is our destination.

We have a few nice pieces with Tommy Ray, Bo Bonds and Debarge. Through seven games we are batting 0.196, slugging 0.324 and pitching to an ERA of 4.57. If those numbers don't get better, we will struggle to finish with a 0.500 record. Yes, those numbers were better before we went to Round Rock, but barely marginally better with a 4.15 ERA and 0.216 BA.

We faced an IU team that was 0-4 and and the Arkansas team struggling mightily at the plate and looked like they threw a mid-week guy last night. I watched us scrimmage at LSU and was underwhelmed, hoping I was wrong. I still hope I am wrong.

It just sucks that we seem to be in rebuild mode the last 5 years

I don't get it. Our stats are very scary and not is a good way. Our saving grace may be that our league is horrible.

Y'all know I'll be the first one to ride for this program when I think the perception is out of line with reality.

This was a very disappointing effort this weekend and I'll leave it at that right now.

The stats are the stats. Numbers do not lie and generally tell the story in baseball more than any other sport.

Good teams also minimize walks and mistakes. Cajuns did not do that last night. That does not mean they will not be a team which minimizes those and makes others pay when they do later in the season.

Offensively we hitting .196 with 63k and 26 walks in 219 AB’s. Thats 9 strike outs per game. So thats 3 innings a game we are non productive in the batters box. Basically gives us 18 AB’s the rest of the game to be productive at the plate. With that being said, if the strike outs stay that high we had better start walking more and figure out how to become clutch hitters. We gotta find ways to make productive outs rather than striking out. If we dont get on first base we take away our biggest offensive tool at this point which is our speed. Oh, and we cant get picked off every other game either.
