That was a fun atmosphere today. It’s nice to see the place packed again. As far as this team, we are going to see some up-and-down play as this team continues to find their identity. But one thing’s for sure. They’re scrappy and respond to adversity. Take the series tomorrow, and we could be in for a fun season.

Cajun pitching walked eight batters and hit two, hence the 10 free base runners.

On the plus side we struck out 8 batters, but still fortunate to win a game giving up that many base runners. Some clutch pitching with a lot of men on base, sure help, but those high stress innings take a toll over the long term.

I think our pitching, for the most part, will be fine. You won't find many better offensive teams on the schedule. I know who we play in Round Rock, but Irvine is a very seasoned team, and do a phenomenal job of working the counts.

Very nice, quality win on a great day at the ballpark. Baseball is harder to play well than it looks. We are good. I am encouraged.
