    Poll Softball Polls

Someone had asked about the softball polls and here they are:

UL moved up from 23 to 20 in the NFCA/USA TODAY POLL
UL moved up from 22 to 20 in the D1 Softball Poll
UL moved up from 23 to 20 in the ESPN Poll
UL moved up from 19 to 15 in the Softball America Poll

Softball RPI is not out yet this early in the season

    Here are the links:

    http://www.espn.com/college-sports/r...ortId/15530000
    https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/softba...y/nfca-coaches

We are now ahead of LSU in 4 national polls and officially in the top 20 in all of them as well.

I am not expecting any issues tonight with Nicholls, but just a quick glance at their team, hitting is not the issue with them. They have 7 hitters batting over .300 including 6 that are batting over .364 and a team BA of .300. Their issue is on the mound, they have started 4 pitchers in 4 games with a team ERA of 6.13. They do have one pitcher who, on paper, looks pretty good. Paris Lehman has a 1.35 ERA in 10.1 innings, I assume that is who we will face, because the others are not good.

Brittney Turner has an ERA of 6.18 in 5.2 innings
Taryn Westbrook has an ERA of 11.31 in 4.1 innings
Kennedy Hebert has an ERA of 13.36 in 3.2 innings

They have given up 20 walks in 4 games and 8 HBP. Ironically Paris Lehman doesn't have their only win, that was Brittney Turner. Every one of their pitchers has pitched in at least 2 of their games, Lehman and Westbrook have pitched in 3 while Turner and Hebert have pitched in 2 games.

    Thanks, Dave.

There were a few teams that slipped up in week one. LSU being one of them. They played 2 close games with Central Arkansas, losing one and also fell in extras to Illinois who went 4 and 1 in that tourney. They cracked the top 25 this week, but not sure if it's in all polls.

We take a trip up to Urbana in April for a Tuesday double header, so that's looking to be a good opportunity at least right now.

It’d sure be nice to curb stomp LSU this year.

Urbana in April...Oof. will likely be cold and rainy. Hope that doesn't affect our bats and the new freshies to much

It would be nice to host A&M BR in the post season but you know how the NCAA loves and is controlled by the SEC.

They're not playing like freshies, if you haven't noticed.
