It was nice to see softball dominate weaker teams again. This week will see who this team really is.

I agree, although compared to other schools in the belt, the teams we played were tougher. Just look at ulm, they were perfect through the weekend too, but played nothing but HBCU's. I'm excited to see how this team plays against top notch teams in the next coming weeks

Sorry but in reality, none of the teams the Cajuns played this weekend were very good. All were rebuilding with marginal talent. The UAB starter in the first game on Friday was legit but after that, their staff was was very weak. The North Texas staff was devastated with the departure of Trautwain and Tulsa was, well, just Tulsa. None of their players could hit quality pitching like that which the Cajuns have and none had any quality pitching, with the exception of the first UAB pitcher, so none of those teams really provided any test for the Cajun pitchers or batters this weekend. Cajuns did what they needed to do and run ruled every game but one.

You might be right about rebuilding, I was just stating that they are traditionally decent teams. It's not like the tournament was made up of really bad softball schools.

UAB was 31-19 last season, 15-5 in CUSA play.
North TX was 38-12 last season, 18-2 in CUSA play (I'd say they were robbed by not being one of the 64 in a Regional).

This might not have been Top 25 programs we run-ruled, but I agree. They are pretty good teams.

Tulsa finished with a winning record as well last season.

Tulsa finished with a winning record as well last season.

It's too early in the season to worry about the opponents we are playing. This is a exciting young team with one of the best freshmen classes in the country. We should enjoy their growth and let the expectations cool a bit.

Many teams lose in early season tournaments. Ask LSU.
