Ok, the more I dig in this to try to understand it, the more confused I’m getting. Maybe someone who’s smarter than me, or knows the facts can clear this up to me.

Seems to me that there are 2 different companies called Barnes and Noble who run college bookstores.

First, the B & N stores that we all know, and like the one near the mall, but also another one called B & N College, listed as BNED on the stock exchange. Or are they the same thing? B & N stores also sell college books, and will run bookstores. Which is very confusing to me.

The link that cypremort posted on the first page here is all about BNED, and I assume that is who we are going with???? Like I said, maybe someone smarter than me can explain it to us.

Here is the link to BNED
    https://www.bned.com/about/

And here is the link to the B & N stores that we are all more familiar with, and explains how they handle college bookstores

That’s what I liked about the Red Zone. They knew better than to stock stuff like that.
I was about to comment that the posts have been surprisingly positive in this thread, until the rebel arrives.

I am stealing from a casual fan here, but I was impressed with everything I saw here: https://www.fanatics.com/

    Give it a chance.

Yeah, just looking at the website, the selection seems to be considerate of "Louisiana" logos.

Remember, Red Zone also had some "UL Lafayette" merchandise (my understanding the instance of a "UL" has to be accompanied by "Lafayette").

On a side note, if you can make it to the bookstore at the Union, decent sale of the leftover merchandise is going on right now.

Pretty sure there will be retail space in the newly renovated Cajun Field. Could that be the future permanent home for the RZ?

Well, I’m very sure there will be a RZ in the new CF. But based on everything that has been posted here, this new deal will mean that BNE runs all of them. Including the one the U.

It’s a college bookstore. Has clothing section. LSU has a pretty big one.

Hopefully we do something like this with the new B&N deal.

    Yeah, my wife mentioned this.

Several years ago, our daughter took her GRE at Refineryville. My wife went with her.

They both represented UL colors, unfortunately it was a home game for Refineryville. They literally had to take refuge in the bookstore for their personal safety. My wife commented about how extensive the selection was.

Jeez, those people make it so easy to detest them.

My momma always told me "be yourself."

So I guess you can blame her.

Former B&N manager here. B&N and B&N College are two distinct but related companies. Textbooks, etc. go through College. The specialty retail stores we’re familiar with are B&N.

So the specialty retail stores, what kind of gear can we expect?
