She will not start in the circle or in the field for game 1 of the 22 season. This thread is the opening lineup. She may start in Game 2 and beyond.

Per the agreement with ESPN, if games aren't on the +, streaming is not allowed.

Baseball and softball will, for a great part, go back to being a radio sport.

Is there an underlying reason for this? I've enjoyed being able to watch college baseball over the past few seasons with the app.

Dr. Maggard talked about this on the latest podcast. Part of the problem is game overlap. We have limited equipment and staff to stream two different sports on the same day when we play at home. Yesterday we streamed basketball which will always take priority due to the contract (may not reflect current interest level locally now but nationally basketball always holds more sway than the diamond sports). Women's basketball also takes priority over diamond sports as virtually all conference basketball games for both men and women are streamed. That is part of the ESPN plus contract. When basketball ends, we have lots of weekends when both softball and baseball are home at the same time. We can't stream both sports in those situations. Now what has not been announced, is how many road games will be streamed. That is up to the individual schools in the league and many of them don't have enough interest in diamond sports to justify streaming.

I actually prefer listening to baseball games with Jay on the call vs. streaming. It allows you to get off the couch and work around the house or golf while listening.

I don’t understand. Why any baseball and softball home games are ever scheduled during the same time? This seems counterproductive to increasing fan support and revenue generation.
