….so my analogy is ———-name players, position coaches, staff, etc from other G5 schools that wouldn’t have taken the gig offers from Fla……add on having worked with so many from their staff including the boss and the bucks!

There are 2 ways of looking at that we are also retaining more coaches than any other coaching transition. I think hud and Napier each kept 1 if I am not mistaking? As far as players go this is a different time and place for transferring and we are seeing the beginning of a new trend. Hard to compare that to any other year.

This. It’s certainly tough to see this happening, but if you dig into the cause of it, it makes it a bit easier to understand.

LOL! What does that matter? It doesnt change OUR situation. This is whats happening to US.

SMU has done a pretty good job at keeping things in place when Dykes left for TCU

So, you can't name another school that compares to OUR situation. Cool.

We are in unchartered waters, to say the least. If Wes was hoping/possibly expecting to be the DC, he probably started looking soon after we named Coach Morgan for that job. He found a job at a B10 school and most certainly got a raise, likely comparable to what he would made as our DC.

Rory was offered the opportunity to coach in the NFL again with a former colleague and likely good friend with probably 3x his UL current salary....a no brainer.

My concern would be if these guys left because they didn't believe in CMD, however based on the events that have transpired since the CBN left, this doesn't appear to be the issue for these two coaches. Next...

That is golden. And very appropriate to our current situation, lol.

Little different situations. Hud and Napier were new coaches coming in from outside the program. Des wwas an inside hire coming off a succesful 13-1 season. Hud and Napier werent inheriting a team coming off succesful seasons. They were mostly looking to clean house and bring in their own staff to creatr their own cultures. Des was looking to keep everything as is to CONTINUE the culture. Correct me if Im wrong, but Hud and Napier were letting staff go to replace them with their guys....Des was looking to keep them.
