There was no so called G5 and P5 before the CFP. We should be demanding at least one automatic qualifier for the CFP when if and when it expands to 12 teams. We should also be demanding that G5's still have a shot at an at large as well.
We’re at the proverbial line in the sand as far as antitrust considerations. As long as “G5” hangs around, the wolves are held at bay. The moment the lemmings WILLINGLY VOTE to go over the cliff and declare they want their own G5 championship, it’s over.

In the meantime the G5 leagues will slowly all become one bid leagues in every non football sport.

The league movement this past fall was no fluke. It’s just a matter of time until the P5 becomes the P4.

We need to hold our ground, just like we did when the 1-A 1-AA split happened.

G5's would learn to budget without.

    1) make sure our product is vastly better than FCS and don’t play any FCS
    2) student/athletes contract must be repaid if broken
    3) ESPN runs the present show. Make a deal with whoever wants to compete with them.
    4) March madness our 32 on one channel and their 32 on another
    5) you need to build a new and better mouse trap. There can be NO Vanderbilt or ULM. The Network will have to help sell the product. Not G5, “American College Championship Association “

Yeah that #3 would be our collective death.

Ask CUSA how that approached magnified their product.

TV cameras can’t face the sun, and TV broadcast has to be on the same side as the cameras.

    2) we could still play p5 teams but at set amounts across all G5 teams(3 mil) per game or 2 mil and return trip game.
    3) 5 balanced # conferences, playing only among ourselves unless really paid. No 1AA games.
    4) let bowls bid on playoff games hosting
    5) one giant contract with television.
    6) call it “real college football!”
    7) 12th game is conf. Championship. Rest of conference is seeded out to give best schools a final chance to make playoffs with their 12th game.
    8) 16 team playoff
    9) 94 scholarships, 110 total players at practice
    10) cameras facing the full side of the stadium.
#1 will never fly as NIL is now legal.
#2. Limiting the opportunity of universities to maximize a P5 game
#3. A giant TV contract? You want a lot of networks bidding on pieces of the schedule.
#4. 110 players is 25 less than we have now. Need those numbers to get really good reps for eveyone.

Well you may be right. But, what I do know is that the top 30 money programs are only using the rest of us as chicken feed. The separation, is both financial and a glass ceiling. How long until another Cincinnati gets a shot. My ideas may need tweaking, but at least there is a chance at an equitable future in them. And we could have a schedule that has just one week day game and 5 Saturday games and only morning games when needed for TV. You want to compete? Then our product against their product. I think we need at least 60 teams to be viable. Maybe we need 2 or three networks to join us and compete with ESPN. The NCAA is a broken institution that we never had or will get a viable seat at the table, so why support what does not support us?

So you believe we should jump into a lifeboat because after all is said and done the current model is the Titanic early on after hitting the iceberg.
