Zylan Perry is a 5’10 ATH who plays quarterback for the Franklin High School Hornets in Franklin, Louisiana. Perry has elite speed clocking a 4.44 40-yard dash but the speed is verified with a 11.1 100-meter dash in track and field. Perry also has elite agility with a 4.3 3-cone shuttle time. As a junior Perry accounted for over 2400 all-purpose yards and 25 touchdowns. He earned 1st Team All-District as an athlete in District 7-2A in the 2020 season. From his junior season
The 6-foot-0, 190-pound Perry passed for 2,200 yards with 22 TDs, rushed for 1,700 yards with 16 TDs, intercepted five passes while returning two for scores, and returned three kicks for TDs. 3900 yards 43 TD’s 5 INT’s(on defense) don’t care what level...that’s impressive
And yet, Rubio, Gillie and a number of others had similar offers coming out of high-school. But no one seems to remember that Mitchell was only getting looks from state schools until UL and Tech offered late. Evaluation and projection matter.
Also grades matter as well.
Another factor effecting HS recruiting is the transfer portal. The are a number of athletes that are not getting lots of looks because the scholarships aren't available. It's also affecting the junior colleges as well. This comes from my friends still involved in college recruiting. Two of them in the SEC.
Isacks committed to Florida.
Isacks got picked off by the cheaters. Amazing…
He took a preferred walk on offer over a full ride here.
