Going against the big boys for recruits now baby !!
And yet, Rubio, Gillie and a number of others had similar offers coming out of high-school. But no one seems to remember that Mitchell was only getting looks from state schools until UL and Tech offered late. Evaluation and projection matter.
    Also grades matter as well.

Another factor effecting HS recruiting is the transfer portal. The are a number of athletes that are not getting lots of looks because the scholarships aren't available. It's also affecting the junior colleges as well. This comes from my friends still involved in college recruiting. Two of them in the SEC.

Yes, ability. Both played in the pistol as QBs, and both are sub 4.5 athletes. He will play at 200 plus pounds.

LOL!!! And you know this because of his profile? Memo, the guys that created his profile will never mention his early offers from FCS. That's how it works.

And apparently beating us without even offering a scholarship. Need this recruiting cycle to end so Mike and them can start finding their guys.

A preffered walk-on at a P5 usually are quality athletes. Most of the time within the state because of cost.

Walk on players are also eligible for NIL deals.

These type of guys we need to stay close to. The NIL money is good and all, but they are going to crave playing time eventually. If they don’t get it, they will transfer. The one thing LSU has done under Kelly is getting Louisiana players to come home through the portal. I think that is a sustainable model and why you recruit the state so hard, build that relationship to also get a crack at a player that doesn’t sign with you, initially.
