The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office has confirmed that the man wanted for shooting at deputies this morning has been apprehended. We'll have the latest tonight at 6:00 on KATC

A manhunt is underway by air and ground in New Iberia for a man who allegedly opened fire on an Iberia Parish Sheriff's Deputy. It happened around 6:30 a.m. near Jefferson Terrace Blvd. and E Admiral Doyle Drive.
According to Lt. Ryan Turner with the Sherrif's Office, for unknown reasons the suspect opened fire on the deputy, who returned fire. The suspect then fled into nearby woods. The deputy was not injured; It's unclear whether the suspect was injured.
A helicopter crew is searching the woods by air while SWAT and K9 teams are covering the ground.
