There are way more seats than that in the upper deck. I’m actually pretty sure that there are more seats in the upper deck than the west side lower bowl beneath it.

The upper deck is obnoxiously large. Way more than 5,300. The lower level west side has more seats, but not by some huge margin.

The number came from the Lemoine issued master plan document in 2013. There are right at 8,000 in the lower bowl on the home side.

Thought they were spreading out the existing seating. Meaning less seats per row. Less total capacity.

Yes, but bowl the stadium with a smaller upper deck.

That is the plan. Wider seats spaced out more for convenience and comfort.

Until the "child care facility" in the north end zone is either closed off or redeveloped the stadium size is irrelevant and will always seem to look empty.

. . . in truth and fact if we get more lard asses in the seats, it could be called more capacity . . .

So you think building the SW EndZone seating made the stadium look fuller?

    You have a point.

    A horseshoe looks better.

Plus there isn’t a single seat in the lower bowl that is half as good as any seat in UD1,2 or 3.
