Thread: Cajun Field Construction

An overhang on the student side will not provide much benefit when considering the layout of the stadium (i.e. student side will always be facing west) and the time of home games. The sun does pretty much the same thing for early/mid-season 6pm games and late season 4pm games. It will be in your face until it goes down behind the home side.

The only time you will benefit is if its an earlier game, which we try to avoid.

You seem you know what you are talking about. What about a shorten overhang with lights attached like Tulane?

It could look similar to the University of Washington stadium. Also, cut off the top of the extended poles atop the east side of the stadium. It gives it a really unfinished look. And, bowl the stadium. No more kiddie playground in the NEZ. This a college football stadium, not a day care center. JMO.

In the picture provided the end zone appears to be the West or possibly East if an eary morning view. The West facing student side will always be a tough sun seat at Cajun Field. Add artificial surface and the place is an oven in September and early October.

Something like this and I don’t think it would be as expensive and doable. The lights would go on the edge of the over hang. If I had it my way it would go all long the endzones just so it would have that finish feel and the lights and can go all the way around it .

It is no secret, they still need more money.

Don't be surprised the CF reno is pushed back indefinitely.

We know, why, (sometimes) the secret is who, when, where, and how.

From what I’m hearing it will not be pushed back.
