Seriously how can Maggard keep Marlin around? Does not realize we are losing money in ticket sales because people won't support Marlin anymore? Not to mention he is getting paid wayyyy too much to be this mediocre. We can save 300k and pay someone to else to get these results. If they fired him before conference play they probably would have made back the 100k(if that's truly the buyout) by seasons end
It might not be a massive spike, but there will be increased interest. Unfortunately, it’s currently to the point where one can count people one-by-one at each home game now. Regardless of how the landscape of basketball has changed with attendance, that’s still unacceptable. Plus, add in the same type of game play we saw this weekend; and you have straight up apathy across the entire fan base. Something has to give at this point.

How many years does Bob Marlin have left on his contract?
Men's basketball coach Bob Marlin's contract would be extended one year through 2023, women's basketball coach Garry Brodhead one year through 2024, baseball coach Matt Deggs one year through 2025, softball coach Gerry Glasco one year through 2026 and soccer coach Lance Key one year through 2025.
Marlin's contract — most recently signed in 2019 at $552,476 annually — would automatically be extended by one year if the Cajuns win the Sun Belt regular season title or qualifies for the NCAA Tournament. Marlin's buyout would be $200,000 if terminated before March 31, 2022.
Winning the regular season is highly unlikely. Now we understand why Bob said all that matters is three games in March.
