How about some kind of quotient or factor added to a team’s score based on average number of stars each recruit is. for example if a team of all 3stars ties a team of all 4stars the 3 would win, because x #of points gets added to their score. could also lead to strategy in recruiting because you wouldnt “extra” 4s and 5s that dont contribute hoggin up your bench and ruining your quotient factor.
true. but if it werent up to them, if there was some objective body in charge of the rules, in theory, maybe others could expound on the idea?
i had a similar idea in basketball a long time ago, that with rounding obviously, why not make the player’s gpa the amount they get for each bucket in basketball. A 4.0 student’s goals are worth more than the 2.0 minimum eligible player, etc etc. how far would teams be willing to sacrifice overall talent for smarter players, where do you find the perfect mix, seems like it would add another level of strategy to the sport.
Besides privacy issues and whoever is going to be the independent agency that the autonomous 5 will accept. You know they pretty much told the NCAA what side of the world the Sun rises on. It’s the East as long as they agree to that. But one day they’re going to explain to the NCAA there’s no true East, only a continuing changing of location.
