Mike seems to be more and more comfortable doing interviews. He still is not full of "Coach Speak" cliches, which I like. He also did not say "without a doubt" too much if any. I hate that coach speak answers more than any others.
I think Coach Mike will do fine.
Yeah....he has a little polishing to do with the "you know", but the more I hear him speak, the more confident I am that we are in good hands. His passion for this program and the players is so genuine. Also, he sounds like his is focused on on the right things and moving forward. He is tuning out the noise!
Question, when did coaches get paid to be a public speaker? Nick saban has “ catch phrases” or whatever you want to call them, I guess my real question is...who gives a ___? They aren’t paid to give quality interviews.
Mike says the average NIL bill is 1,200 dollars per year.
Also this is the first year schools have to contend with both the portal and NIL.
Coaches are salesman first. The person has to buy into what they’re selling. All the rest will follow through.
I do recall Mel Didier at Opelousas High after winning a state championship selling fifth grade boys to come out for peewee football. Coach had a great relationship with UL.
