Shocking simply shocking.
Shocking simply shocking.
Also remember, while Cincy is a G5 today, they are also a team that announced during the season that they are soon going to be P5. Cincy had already announced that they were joining the Big 12. While I am not a conspiracy theorist, I wonder how that might have impacted Cincy's run to the CFP Playoff. The other piece is that Cincy made it hard for the CFP to leave them out. Cincy played and defeated two P5 teams, one of the issues with the Cajuns is our MO is not to play two P5 teams, only to play 1. Dr. Maggard has stated emphatically that the perfect schedule includes, 1 P5 Road, 1 G5 Road, 1 G5 Home and a FCS Home game. At this point, the Cajuns are not set up to be in the CFP because they would have to defeat the 1 P5 team and hope that the G5 teams they play are really good and even then I don't think they would get the respect they need, because it wouldn't be vs 2 P5 teams. Cincy beat a Top 10 team in ND a 2-10 Indiana team, a 7-6 MAC team and Murray State out of conference. What helped them was beating a Top 25 Houston team and a decent SMU team at the time during the season.
If it were up to me Louisiana would be playing SIX P5 games a year.
Man, they had to take care of the ACC…3 in front of us, got jumped by 2. Saving face.
Notice four of the 5 P5 conferences had 3 each in the top 15. PAC 12 only had Utah, with Cincinnati and ND taking their other spots. 5 time 3, 15 sounds really fishy.
We met our ceiling as prescribed by the cabal.
I could see us at 14 or 15, but the rest of team top teams would be heavy favorites against us on a neutral field. Still a fantastic accomplishment!
Losing to mediocre Texas killed any chance we had of being top 12.
I took a peek at many of the various “2022 Way-Too-Early Pre-Season Rankings”—all showing UL definitely not Top 25, with the explanation of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named leaving and losing important players.
Glad its not up to you.
