This is the beginning of the end as we know of college football.

Universities would budget accordingly. Depending on the payout to make your budget is a sure way to fail. Live within your budget and life is better.

Just look at the historical performance of the alumni assoc. To answer that...

I agree with MAT's post. RCAF has done a pizz poor job as well as a disservice to UL by NOT cultivating the $50 to $300 a year members.

I started at $50 3 years ago. Went to $100 on year 2.
I am at $300 which is all I can afford.
We need many more like us. 1000 $300 donors gets you $300,000.
How many actual Alumni do we have?

Thanks for your support. If we could get more folks to follow your model we would be doing good. We are getting a ton of corporate sponsorships but very little actual RCAF members which is where the coaching salaries are supplemented from.

What’s the possible ROI on free RCAF base membership the first year after graduation? Just a thought.

Who knows? It hasn't ever been tried and would be a good idea.

That’s been postulated for years. Seems not to be a thing that the university believes benefits the university

I’m not sure about the RCAF but I know with the Alumni Association you can join as a recent grad for $25 instead of the normal $50 in the first 5 years after you graduate. If the RCAF did something like that, I think it would help.

Absolutely. We need national connections for large donations, but local people need to be in charge of cultivating smaller donors.

We definitely had those in the past, believe one might be Gerald Hebert.

Time probably has passed him by.

Gerald still works for the RCAF but in a limited role. His wife's health is not good.

I don’t know if Peanut would want to move or not, but he could be a former alumni that could boost both the small and large donations with the connections he has. He’s also a great ambassador for the university
