That is where his career will end. With tunnel vision.

If playing at the next level is his goal, he needs to quit listening to the noise in his head and play somewhere that isn't a talent graveyard.

Roughly 6-7% of players eligible get drafted in a given year and almost half of those
Get cut. Most college players deep down know they have zero chance at the league.

While future paydays are certainly a common denominator, it's not always about that.
Then the player should have never signed at UL. I’m sure he saw on his recruiting trip that there wasn’t 70k in the stadium. It’s not like he didn’t know what he was signing up for when he signed.

Can’t blame the people who aren’t fans. But if you enjoy football and go to some UL games you should get to more in order to enhance your enjoyment of the games. Fans provide most of game day atmosphere. Pointless to complain about atmosphere if you miss most games. Just saying.

I moseyed over to the Sunbelt board after reading this but I didn’t get the sense they were giddy at our situation. I mean there are always a couple of beach chicken fans making comments but that’s just par for the course.

I got the sense from the west teams they might have a chance, but other than that most posts seemed to make the point that it sucks for us and a form of sympathy for us.

Maybe I just read it differently, I didn’t see much pointing and laughing.

This is happening everywhere and to every university that has some big-time players.

Baylor WR T.J. Sneed, a three-year starter, enters transfer portal

    January 4
Baylor redshirt senior WR R.J. Sneed, who started each of the past three seasons for the Bears, has entered the transfer portal. Sneed, who is from the Houston area, was second on the team with 46 receptions this season. He led Baylor with 39 catches in 2020, and had 133 (and eight touchdowns) in his Bears career. Sneed had 100-plus catches in each of his final three high school seasons at Cypress (Texas) Ranch High.
Auburn leading receiver Kobe Hudson enters transfer portal

    January 4
Auburn sophomore WR Kobe Hudson, who led the Tigers with 44 receptions this season, has entered the transfer portal. Hudson is from LaGrange, Ga., about 45 miles northeast of Auburn. He also led the team with 580 receiving yards and was tied for the lead with four TD catches. Hudson was the fourth-highest-ranked prospect in Auburn’s 20202 recruiting class.
Oklahoma WR Mario Williams is in transfer portal

    January 4
Oklahoma freshman WR Mario Williams, a four-star recruit in the 2021 class, has entered the transfer portal. Williams, from Plant City, Fla., near Tampa, was second on the Sooners with 35 receptions this season. His four TD catches were tied for third-most on the team.

Maybe these players didn't have P5 options when they signed with us. Or maybe they did, and were told they'd have to prove themselves. Whereas now they have a D1 resume and are better positioned to play?

Opportunities change for athletes, just like everyday workers who bust azz and get recognized for their efforts.

Hunt, Dotson, and Mitchell prove that recognition and a pathway to the NFL exists here in Lafayette. The move is a mistake, IMO

The bust up between UL and Napier seems to be more than the transfer portal. It seems an Maggard and CMD think Napier crossed a line and they are angry about it. Will we ever get the whole story, who knows? With the media in this town, very unlikely.

Torrance for instance was offered by UGA. Kids have to prove themselves at every level once the sign. Again I stand by the statement, if running out in front of 70k is what a kid is motivated by, as you stated his reason for leaving might be, he should have never signed here. Why do yourself an injustice. Shot for what your dreams are.

Going back to B.Mitchell days you could name dozens of examples. If you are good enough they will find you. Doesn’t matter where you are at.
