We really are. If not, damn close. AP Top 25 two years running is pretty nasty.

I’m beyond excited for the future! We are just getting started. Remember, it’s a marathon not a sprint.

The best is yet to come!

In the case of Mcnesse it is all those in breeds know. We shall see. I hope a pray it works, nothing like sustaining the cULture with guys that came from here. It would just mean more to them and they’d be more likely to stay around.
I think you’re reading too much into a small sample. Remember Billy hired many coaches who were very good Louisiana and East Texas recruiters.

You could have said his initial hires were heavily inbred

I think he's probably doing it on purpose. That was 15 years ago, but let's talk about what McNeese did back then.

Ending the season in the Top 25 on a consistent basis will be very difficult to sustain.

Top 25, conference championships, signature wins will be the definition of success for many.

Why would it be difficult to end the season in the top 25 consistently? It will be easier as a "regional" team to end their then say a Mississippi State.

Much easier to get in the top 25 now that we have been in it the past 2 seasons. Start the season 3-0 and we will probably be top 20. If we were to start season 3-0 4 years ago, we wouldn't be ranked

Agreed, we now have the 'street cred' to get there quicker, but ending there will still hinge on probably 2 or fewer losses, attaining the championship game (at a minimum) and for sure winning (if we have more than 2 losses).

Clemson just finished their 11th straight season of 10 wins, and I promise you, no one thinks they were successful this season.

When you’re considered an ultra elite program nothing less a final four is successful, and win the whole thing more than once a decade.

We can do this now… it is not as difficult as it used to be as all we have to do is trust the process, use the formula given, sustain our defensive success, keep turning out RB U, and have good QB play with few turnovers…. We have the secret formula we just have to follow it…. 9 wins next year is manageable…10 wins is a really good year… anything above that is lagniappe. Remember we run this conference now…. Recruit recruit recruit and coach coach coach and we can do this.

Also have a very soft OOC SLU EMU RICE and a very winnable FSU who went from rags to riches and back to rags again.

I’m pretty sure FSU wasn’t in rags for 2021, and won’t be in 22. Of course they’re way underperforming from a historical perspective. Even as a “rags” team they’re dangerous and have recruited well. We shall see if their coach has become better. Beating a shell of the former great FSU gets some style points. I hope we beat a up and coming FSU. That’s what gets you noticed late in the season.
