EVENT: Second annual Celebrity Golf Classic

DATE: Monday, July 15, 2002

TIME: Shotgun start at 10 a.m.

LOCATION: LeTriomphe Golf Club in Broussard

Former Ragin’ Cajuns Brian Mitchell and Don Wallace will be hosting the tournament which will benefit
  • The Brian Mitchell Foundation
  • Louisiana’s Ragin Cajuns Athletic program,
  • The Acadiana Outreach Center
  • Community Foundation of Acadiana.

The format will be a four-man scramble with individual contests throughout the tournament. Each team will consist of three players and one celebrity captain.

Celebrities who have been invited to participate include

  • Dwight Prudhomme,
  • Antonio Gibson,
  • Bo Lamar,
  • Corey Raymond,
  • Eric Cloutier,
  • Eric Martin,
  • Johnny Hector,
  • Lyle Mouton,
  • Kerry Joseph,
  • Kevin Faulk,
  • Orlando Thomas and a host of others.
Awards and dinner will be presented at 3 p.m.

Mitchell is wrapping up the off-season with this tournament. He has participated throughout the off-season in various fundraising efforts for the American Heart Association, the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Ronald McDonald House. He returns to training camp on July 26.
