It wasn’t ridiculous 5 years ago. Big 12 has always been the end goal.

Hey, at least it's not as far fetched as thinking about this years ago. Staying ranked the next couple of years would serve us well too.

    New stadium

    Being and staying ranked

    R1

    New airport

Good baseball program and stadium, top 20 attendance

National power in softball, good stadium and top 20 attendance

It does start to add up. But, it's just wishful thinking.
Missing 1 thing that will hold us back. Basketball has to get better in a hurry.

This. Anyone who thinks the Big 12 will come calling before we can at least show a $55 Million annual athletic budget is living in LaLa Land. They especially wouldn't consider expanding to 16 teams if they didn't think the additional four were ready as is to compete with P5s from other conferences.

An ultimate goal. What you said is valid.

A trip to the moon biggest hurdle was to say it. Thank you President Kennedy for challenging America to do the unthinkable. In fact some still believe it didn’t happen. Think they’re mostly Zombie LoTech grads.

That is $55M, today. In the next 3-5 years, that probably needs to go up to $70M. Very simply, athletic budgets are going down, any time soon.

Your saying the budget probably needs to go up and then your saying very simply that they are going down?

Pretty sure he meant they aren’t going down anytime soon.
