I have no problem with refs discussing a possible penalty. Does not necessarily mean they are unsure but that there were different points of sight. what might appear a penalty form one view might not from another. In fact, I think that is the sin of a good crew.

How many times did Marshall line up in the neutral zone? Looked like a few guys were across every play.

that was the lowest faster arm raise in history there is no way that a player saw that slight arm motion especially at the angle that he was coming in at and also the Marshall player started to run with the ball before the hit. End of the day the game was chippy by that time due to the dirty play and non called penalties on almost every play that the refs didnt call against Marshalls dirty play contributed to the hard hit. It wasnt a dirty hit it was a clean play against a player that made a poor decision on his arm movement which was meant to try to deceive the rusher

Regardless of the question of the fair catch signal, it was targeting. Probably unintentional, but targeting nonetheless.

not to mention Marshall ripping LL's helmet off after he was on the ground earlier in the game

Nobody said there would be any math....Pythagorean theorem

I do not believe that Wilson intended to hurt the returner but these collisions can occur during punts and kickoffs. Glad the returner is not hurt.

Earlier in the game the Marshall DE made a violent hit on Earl Rogers and Roger laid on the ground for a while and had to be helped from the field. The Marshall sidelines went crazy in wild celebration while Rogers laid on the ground. I thought their celebrations were a little over the top considering Rogers was clearly hurt but that was never commented on.
…..Rick…thanks for saving me a post about punt coverage and The lick on Rogers….the Greens were in jubilation about our guy being literally knocked out! Something needs to be addressed about the targeting situation…..if both the runner and the tackler do what they are taught there will be helmet to helmet contact!

JW is not a dirty player and the play was not dirty. Didn’t see the waive and lowered his head at the wrong time, while the returner seemed to be advancing the football. It happens.

If any team was dirty, it was the team in green. MANY times last during the game, they pulled BS stunts, like kicking Trahan in the head after his pick. Or the automatic machine gun gestures toward our sidelines. Marshall fans are salty and sawft. Sour grapes keeping this stupid accusation alive.

And yes, the officiating in that game was atrocious.

If you watch much football, there are targeting calls every week. This is just another targeting penalty and ejection. Nothing more, nothing less.

No one here said he was a dirty player.

I can’t understand why you, among all people, are so determined to stretch every part of the play against Williams . . . C’mon man . . .

It was a pivotal turning point in the game, for the good, that defies explanation.
