    Hmmm, I don’t know about that . . .

Saw that on the YouTube replay!

They showed up 2 weeks ago for the championship game.

The fan base is the fan base. We have a consistent 15K to 20K hardcore Fan Base. The other 10K may go to one or two games every other year. The goal is to continue to grow the hardcore fanbase, where when these casual fans go to a UL game, they have such a good time and of course we win, they want to continue to come back. If we can get it to 25K Hardcore fans, then another 10K casual fans showing up for the perfect weather Saturday games puts us at 35K for these perfect weather Saturday games which is where we need to be.

I think the biggest issue for lack of bowl attendance this year was financial more than anything else.

He wasn't just fast. He was tough inside & was incredibly patient allowing his blockers to work for him & use his blocks. I Have to say he was really fun to watch, just not against us.

It was hilarious. Nate may not have had a good career here but he will give you some great moments to remember, the GSU FG and then the bowl game Time Out gesture.

Geaux Nate, great having you here. I said in one of the earlier podcasts that we were going to need Nate at some point this year and he came up big in the bowl game when we needed him. I think that the 3 first half FG's were huge for us. If he misses them we are down 14-7 at the half, instead we were up 16-7.

    Very happy for Nate.
That's the kind of guy I'd like to hear interviewed about his whole season, the ups & downs & what he went through emotionally. How the coaches reacted & stuck with him. And what turned the corner for him. He just wasn't the same guy the last two games that he was during most of the the season. And he was huge for this team in the championship & this bowl game.

Obviously we will have to replace FG next year but with the exception of how well they were able to run the ball early in the game, our defense did a great job. Grant Wells is a good QB and our DB's made him look bad.
I know another guy we missed dearly as well. But I'm not going there although I went there in my mind a lot during the game.

Didn't Marshal call two time outs in a row there? I thought that was illegal. Apparently not.

Yea, shaming Diehard Cajun fans because they didn't attend this bowl game is not a good look period! Sorry you don't feel the same way, but no one owes you an explanation if they having been showing up for years and decided other events in their lives take president over this bowl game.

The Ragin Cajuns are my program and my university, they are not my FAMILY!

Thanks for attending and showing up!

Grade for Dez as OC: Considering I don't know 1/10,000 the football the offensive coaches do, it's hard but my gut says overall B, with the opening sequences being top tier. We fell into offensive doldrums for a bit, but we also had pretty poor field position for a good part of that. Clearly re-juggling the line made a big difference late in the game.

    The future looks bright.
I agree. What gives me the most comfort from his first game as HC, was our ability to make 2nd half adjustments, just like CBN. This was something that Hud could never do, plus Hud's teams had a tough time just making it through the 2nd half.
