The saltiness on the CUSA message board is heartwarming. ULL isn’t top 25, they only play weak teams, they have not beaten anyone, they are dirty because of one player and one targeting call.
CUSA?
So for those counting at home:
1- Levi is the 7th best QB in the Sunbelt.
2- Levi is not a true D1 QB.
3- Levi is scared of contact.
4- Levi is an albatross around his team’s neck.
5- Levi is a liar.
Wow. Just wow.
I can’t wait for the ceremony when his name and number goes up on the Cajun Field wall.
Super competitive players play hurt all the time, they lie and tell the coach they are fine, just to get back in the game.
I don't grasp why some think this is a knock on their character.
It is also possible that he fully intended to leave after three years having graduated, however, once he became the starting quarterback under Napier, he was having so much fun, and he realize that this was literally a once in a lifetime possibility, that he decided to prolong his collegiate career.
Now that I’m back and nursing the Nola hangover, I’m watching the game again. While Marshall put up a good fight and were able to put a scare in us into the 4th, talent and opportunistic play calling just set us apart. A few things:
Levi was on the money with the deep ball. He got really good at that this year.
Nate kept us in it when we needed him. That was awesome.
The defense really made Wells look pedestrian.
Ali was good. We could do without seeing him again, but it looks like we won’t have that luxury. He’s a freshman.
When’s the last time we turned the ball over? We must be plus a bunch on the year.
What a season. Not the same New Orleans bowl atmosphere as in the past, but it was fun.
