No, but there’s a historical Congo Square in NOLA.

I don’t read what BWK is saying is what you are suggesting at all. He is simply saying the dude is part of a team. He signed a scholarship to be on that team. If you healthy live up to your obligation and don’t let your brothers down. When those obligations have been met and the 2021 season is over then move on. If you don’t play you are saying I do not care about anyone in that locker room but myself.
All-Sun Belt Third Team Defense
DL – Richard Jibunor, Troy (So., DL – Delta State, Nigeria)
DL – Tayland Humphrey, Louisiana (RS Sr., DL – Houston, Texas)
Gerald B mentioned on Footes show TH was in a walking boot much of the year...
Come on seriously Kyle, their is no one on the planet that thinks that Humphrey is going to upgrade his draft/NFL status by playing in the bowl game, if anything he could either get hurt more (yes, he is injured) or this game could have a negative or no change to his draft/NFL status.
Let's look at this logically for all 5 players.
Peter Leblanc is hurt, he was injured in the App game and he is sitting out because of this. We are extremely deep at WR, so while this hurts a little not a huge loss.
Chris Smith is hurt, he has been hurt all season and has played through it. We are deep at RB so not a huge loss.
Ferrod Gardner has been hurt on an off since the Texas game. Ferrod would love to get a chance at the NFL and playing in this game isn't going to help him, if anything it is only going to hurt his chances. I hate not having Ferrod, but we have played without him for a few games this season so we know what to expect.
Max Mitchell is one of the top OL in the country and this is a huge loss for us, specifically because he is healthy, we could really use him. I hate that he is not playing in this game, but Max made his decision and we have to understand that. Max will be playing on Sundays like Robert Hunt and Kevin Dotson. Max is looking out for Max's future and while I think this is a huge loss for us, I do understand what he is doing, I don't like it, but I understand.
Tayland Humphrey has been hurt all season and played through it, he is going to be a late round draft choice or a UDFA, one game vs Marshall is not going to change that, but if he were to get hurt in this game than that could obviously change everything for him. TH is going to try to get healthy for his Pro Day, where he could change his draft status.
TH and MM are the biggest losses for this game, followed by Ferrod and then finally Peter and Chris.
I respect all of the decisions by these players because they are just trying to do what is best for themselves and their futures. I am very interested in watching Nathan Thomas and/or King McGowan at LT for us, this could give us a glimpse into next year. The good news on the OL, if you listened to Craig and I, is the one position I think that Marshall has some issues on is the DL, so if we are going to be missing a player that is probably where we are least effected. They are really good at LB and DB's, but going into the game with all of our OL, we were better than their DL. Obviously without Max, this changes a little, but I still like our matchup there.
Isn’t it a good thing to have players sitting out of bowl games because of future professional status? Means we have talent and send guys to the pros. We keep having all these big boy problems now that we’ve never had before and a lot of you can’t grasp it.
I have to admit I felt TH showing out against that Center from Marshall would do him so good with his draft stock. RaginDave is a trusted poster so I’m going to take his word for it.
someone else mentioned Tayland measurables and they are accurate, I am just talking about physical measurables (size). If you look at the Big 10, Big 12, SEC, ACC and PAC and look at how many players each team has on the DL that are physically close to Tayland's size, their are very very few. Let's look at the top 4 teams in the country who are playing for the CFP Championship.
Tayland Humphrey is 6'5" 350 LB's.
Alabama's biggest D-Lineman weighs 319 LBS and he is only 6'2" tall, the closest they have is Joshua Frazier who is 6'4" 315 LBS.
Georgia's biggest D-Lineman is Jordan Davis and he is very close to TH, he is 6'6, 340 LBS. They don't have another DL who is over 320 LBS. and those guys are all 6'2 or 6'3.
Cincinnati (I know, not a P5 team, but in the final 4). Their closest DL is Dontay Corleone who is 6'2" 335 LBS. and they don't have anyone else even close to those numbers.
Michigan's biggest DL is 6'1" 348 Jordan Whittley and again, they don't have another player even close to that size, the next biggest DL is 6'3" 326. Mazi Smith
If the top 4 teams in the country don't have players the size and physical stature of Tayland Humphrey, I can guarantee very few teams in the country do.
