Didn't Marshal call two time outs in a row there? I thought that was illegal. Apparently not.

They used all of their t/o's, which was legal, but was just not a good look. Snyder's mock t/o signal was a highlight for me as well.

I just did focus on every single person that was there. And there sure as hell wasn't 20,000 thousand of them.

The reality is this game should be played at Tulane's stadium, not the superdome, 21-30K is a realistic size for this game. The SuperDome seats almost 80K, even at our best we got 40K in the New Orleans Bowl. I know that if we would have played someone like a Houston we might have exceeded the capacity of the 30K that Yulman Stadium holds, but having this game in the SuperDome is always going to look questionable, even if we would get 30+ at the game.

And if you'd have had it at Tulane with the weather front that passed in an open stadium you prolly wouldn't have had two thousand people there. The dome is an excellent venue for a game. It is now configured to hold 67,000 capacity with the new end zone suites. We nearly filled the dome the night we played Tulane in the New Orleans Bowl. The fact is that hate filled politics has cost sporting venues everywhere from high school to the NFL. The so called Make America Great Again movement has only managed to make America hate again in a way I never knew since I was a very young child. You can hardly fill a stadium, or arena anywhere for any reason which is a damn shame.

I know another guy we missed dearly as well. But I'm not going there although I went there in my mind a lot during the game.

Well I know on Saturday you heard Gerald state he was in a walking boot all season. Because I know you called in.

1) Scripted plays to begin the game - Excellent
2) Defensive readiness for Marshal to begin the game - very good

6) Offensive adjustments to marshal's defensive adjustments - There was a stretch where Marshal's defense was able to stop UL's offensive attack during the middle of the game. UL had to rearrange the O. Line to create effective blocking schemes & take control of the LOS. Once again, it took a while but once they figured it out that was church. Very Good.
7) Critical play calling at critical times. Both of the big bombs that Levi got off were daggers to Marshal. They were the difference in that game. It took a lot of nerve for Desormeaux to call the second play to Bernard. Pulling that play off sealed the deal for UL. - Excellent

I gotta say that the "script" for the first drive was amazing. They had Marshall's defense completely unable to react. One of the best opening drives I've seen in several years from a play-calling perspective.

On the other hand, play-calling got very predictable for a long stretch in the middle of the game. Our over-tendency to run on first down allowed the Marshall D to just tee off on Montrell - he did some very hard, thankless work trying to run into the teeth of the defense during the middle part of the game. Montrell's work wore down the defense and allowed Bailey to come in fresh and seal the deal at the end.

I would have like to have seen more first down passes during the middle part of the game to try to spread the defense out and give the running game some room (like those quick outside screens Napier loves). IMHO, we got predictable for a long stretch. However, I'm not expert enough to know whether that predictability set up the long passes, but I'm guessing it had a lot to do with the single coverage on the outside that got the safeties off of our receivers as they were playing run at the LOS.

I think Dez earned a good B plus. His plays had gotten predictable. But he took chances afterward. Learning curve I assume

I don’t agree with the lady running the city and I hate what my once favorite city has become. Still we went to the game, had a great time cheering for our team, then got the hell out as soon as it ended

Lots of great bars and restaurants in Metairie and no mandates.

I think that was somewhat due to our field position for a lot of those drives. The three 2nd quarter punts started on the 13, 11, and 25.
