Scott- According to investigating troopers, on March 26, 2010, at 10:46 a.m., a 1997 Toyota Camry, driven by forty-nine year old Keith Alleman of Scott, was traveling south on LA 93 north of I-10. Fifty-six year old Ralf Doucet of Maurice was traveling north on LA 93 on a Harley Davidson motorcycle approaching the Camry. Alleman ran off the road to the right, steered back to the left and crossed the center line. The Camry struck the motorcycle, ejecting Doucet. After impact the Camry entered a ditch and overturned. Doucet was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lafayette Parish Coroner. Alleman sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Air Med to a local area hospital.
Alleman was arrested for DWI, Careless Operation, and Vehicular Homicide. Alleman will be booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center when he is released from the hospital. Toxicology samples were taken from both drivers and have been submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
