Thread: Louisiana vs LA Tech in 2026, 2029

  1. Default Re: Tech, Future Non-Conference Games

For me personally never play Zombie LoTech until a long time renewal of the series. Not in favor of assorted two game series.

Meh - don't think I don't realize that Wyoming is like, MWC Brand South Alabama, but the truth of the matter is - after realignment, the MWC, AAC, and the Sunbelt are vying for G5 supremacy. (I realize this is fighting over who the biggest fish in the bait pond is, but I digress)

I don't mind playing Tech, and actually welcome the opportunity to kick those dogkillers in their no-no spot.

I don't think so much hubbub would have been made had LaTech alone been added as a home/home. It's that a home/home with a school in a perceived "better" or "equal" conference was cancelled to do it.

That's the rub. It's a valid one. I'll hang up and listen.

I always enjoyed it when we played Tech at home, always a nice crowd, and easy to get from my parking spot to my seat at McNaspy..We're talking about Lamar Tech right?

Louisiana Football and Louisiana Tech are set to face off on the gridiron after the two schools agreed on a home-and-home series, it was announced on Friday morning.

Though there was a rule about FBS not playing at FCS schools. .. since tech will be in the Southland by 2026

I think scheduling them is a very good idea. I just wish they were coming here first.

Where was the last game with them played? If Ruston Maggard lost the negotiations on that deal. I hope we keep our momentum going until then.

I am a big fan of the regional G5 opponent idea with Home and Homes. We currently have the following for us:

    2022 and 2025 Rice (Away 2022, Home 2025)
    2024 and 2027 Tulane (Home 2024, Away 2027)
2023 and 2026 UAB (Away 2023, Home 2026) not as regional as Rice and Tulane but still very doable.

Here are the other schools I would love to see us work with (not all are G5's anymore):

    Houston
    SMU
    UTSA
    UNT
    TCU

Basically from East Texas area - Alabama. This makes these games much more drivable for away games and hopefully brings in a few more fans from the opponents then would, say a EMU or NMSU.

Pretty sure last time they played us was at CF, right? When Dixon busted a 99 yard TD run on us in front of all of the recruits Hud invited.
